WHICH LESSON IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Choose your lesson before choosing your school
In Les 2 Alpes, the right lesson is not just a question of which school. It depends above all on age, level, discipline and how each person wants to progress.
First time on snow, returning after a break, improving or looking for new thrills: start by identifying your profile. You can then compare options more easily and choose the instruction that really suits your stay.
Beginner, returning or improving: the right lesson depends on your age, your level and what you want from it. Work out your profile before comparing schools.

FIRST TURNS
Learning to ski in Les 2 Alpes with children
In Les 2 Alpes, children can start discovering skiing very early. Snow gardens offer purpose-built areas to familiarise them with the snow, the equipment and their first movements, in a gradual and playful way.
First turns in Les 2 Alpes
From age 3, schools welcome little ones in fun, safe areas so they can learn through play.
Gradually, children gain balance, learn to stop and grow confident enough to tackle the green runs.
The goal of the first lesson?
To build confidence and want to come back and ski tomorrow!
The Snow Garden
From age 3, depending on the school and the time of year, the youngest can discover snow in a dedicated environment. Games, magic carpets, mini-slopes and simple exercises help them gradually build balance, braking and independence.
From age 3 depending on the school: games, magic carpets and mini-slopes to build balance and braking.
Progress without rushing
It is better to advance step by step than to race down. Choosing a group that truly matches age and level helps children understand their skis, gain balance and enjoy sliding.
A group matched to age and level makes all the difference.
Plan ahead
Before your stay, check the minimum age, the timetable, the meeting point, the equipment required, any lift pass needed and how children are looked after.

BOOK WITHOUT STRESS
When and how to book your ski lessons?
In busy periods, some formats, time slots and levels can be in very high demand. Booking before you arrive mainly secures the format you want and makes your first morning on site simpler.
01
Book early
Especially during school holidays, for snow gardens, private lessons and very targeted formats.
02
Check the level
Use the school’s guidelines and describe the skier’s independence honestly to avoid a group that is too easy or too hard.
03
Find the meeting point
Starting points are not all the same. Locate them before the first lesson and estimate the time needed from your accommodation.
04
Check pass & equipment
Before you arrive, confirm the equipment, helmet, lift pass and any accessories needed for the lesson.

THE MORNING OF YOUR FIRST LESSON
5 things to check before meeting your instructor
A few very simple checks take away most of the stress of the first morning, especially with children.

The lift pass
Check that it matches what the school has asked for.

The equipment
Skis or snowboard adjusted, suitable boots and poles if needed.

The helmet
Strongly recommended for skiing safely, especially for children.

The meeting point
Locate it the day before rather than a few minutes before the lesson starts.

A little extra time
Allow a margin for equipment, getting around and the unexpected.

08
AFTER THE LESSON
Keep practising and build confidence
A lesson gives you reference points; progress comes from repeating the movements on suitable terrain. Les 2 Alpes has plenty of accessible runs and beginner areas, so you can keep learning without rushing to find something harder.
Replay what you learned
After the lesson, favour a few simple exercises or runs you already know rather than trying to discover the whole ski area at once.
Choose suitable terrain
An easy run you can master often consolidates progress better than terrain that is too difficult and puts the skier back under stress.
09
WELL PLACED FOR THE FIRST LESSON
Where to stay to make ski days easier?
When lessons start early, the location of your accommodation matters. Being close to the lifts, shops and meeting points makes it easier to get children ready, limits walking in ski boots and makes the end of the day much simpler.
Close to the slopes
Less logistics before and after lessons.
Practical for families
An apartment lets you store equipment, get the children ready and organise meals at your own pace.
A real place to unwind
After lessons and a day on the slopes, having your own space makes it easier to recover.

Which area should you choose for ski lessons?
Les 2 Alpes is spread over several areas, each with its own atmosphere and access. The best choice depends on the meeting point given by the ski school, the age of the participants and the level of independence you want during your stay.
The best area depends mostly on the meeting point given by the ski school. Belle Étoile / Jandri gives easy access to the slopes in a quiet setting; Les 2 Alpes 1800 offers the calm of altitude; the Resort Centre (1650) favours shops and resort life; Venosc appeals with its authentic character but needs more planning. Always check the exact lesson location before booking.
1
Belle Étoile / Jandri
A residential area that is particularly convenient for reaching the slopes quickly and winding down after lessons. This is where our apartments are located, right next to the ski area.
2
Les 2 Alpes 1800
The quiet area of the resort, at altitude, with easy access to the pistes. It suits stays where calm is the priority, as long as you check the journey to the lesson meeting point carefully.
3
Resort Centre 1650
The lively heart of the resort, at 1,650 m: a central location with easy access to shops, restaurants and the links to the ski area, with little need to get around. An area to consider when lessons start in the centre of the resort.
4
Venosc
A more authentic, peaceful setting linked to the resort by gondola. This choice does mean planning the timings and the journey to the lesson meeting point carefully.
Practical note:
Meeting points vary depending on the school, the discipline and the level of the lesson. Always check the exact address before choosing your accommodation.
